Egg Scales

Egg Scales or "Pendulum Balance Scales (as well as "Unequal Arm Balance")
became popular in the "30's"
when certain dairy standards became required by various agencies
The dial seemingly was graduated in Oz/Dozen(onces per dozen) which
became known as Extra Large, Large, Medium, Etc:
As an egg was placed in the holder, the pendulum raised the pointer
or level until the equilibrium was reached...
